I have just come across this brand and really like the design of their bags.
I looked at their sustainability (something I would have never considered doing before I started following Volkan (Tanner Leatherstein) who educated me on this. It would be great if this brand could be dissected before I invest into a bag.
I foud this from their website
We have chosen to work only with REACH compliant tanneries. Working with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) allows us to ensure compliance with the regulations created to improve the environment and protect human health.
We have also decided to work only with Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries. By this, we commit ourselves to responsible leather production by assessing material traceability, environmental management system, restricted substances, energy consumption, water usage, air and noise emissions, waste management, effluent treatment, health, safety, and emergency preparedness, chemical management, and operations management etc.
The leather we use is sourced from suppliers located as close to our workshops as possible without compromising on quality. In order to create full transparency, below are valuable information about each of the different materials we use.
and there is also a page explaining where each material originates from, again this is something I have never seen on any other websites.
I'll take note and research this brand. Thank you for bringing it to my attention! Maybe I could add it to my poll in the future. 😊
